Planner II Position
Charleston, South Carolina
The
Berkeley Charleston Dorchester (BCD) Council of Governments, a regional
planning agency located in the Charleston, SC metropolitan area, is seeking
to fill a professional planner position. The BCD region is located on the
coast of South Carolina and has a population of over 600,000.
Responsibilities for this position include planning and project management
within the program areas of environmental, transportation, and land-use
planning, and related activities. Duties will include preparation,
implementation, and administration of planning projects related to
region-wide programs, as well as projects for municipal and county
jurisdictions within the region. The position requires a Master’s Degree in
planning or related field and two years of experience, or a Bachelor’s
Degree in planning and three years of experience. Strong public presentation
and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) are necessary. Interest and
experience practicing and preparing urban design, form-based codes, and land
development codes, are desired. Ability in graphic design and desktop
publishing (Adobe Creative Suite); computer-aided drafting, modeling, and
rendering; and mapping (ArcGIS 9.X) software are also desired. A
